Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

This policy explains what IslaVisit (islavisit.com) collects when you visit, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Contact: support@islavisit.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

Contact form. If you message us, we receive whatever you enter (typically name, email address and your message) plus the time of submission. We use it only to reply.

Comments. If you comment on an article, we store the comment, the name and email you supply, your IP address and browser user agent. Your comment and display name are publicly visible; your email address is not.

Information collected automatically

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are read and how people arrive. This sets cookies and processes data including approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed and referring site. Analytics only runs if you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner.

Affiliate click tracking. When you click an affiliate link routed through islavisit.com/go/, we record that a click happened, which link, and the time. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We use this only to see which recommendations are useful.

Server logs and security. Our host records standard request logs, including IP address, for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (site function, caching and remembering your consent choice), analytics cookies (Google Analytics, only with consent), and affiliate cookies set by merchants when you follow an outbound link, so they can attribute a booking to us. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings on the site, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser.

Third parties

Data may be processed by: Hostinger (hosting), Google (Analytics and Search Console), and our affiliate partners Travelpayouts, Aviasales, Klook, Airalo and EKTA when you click their links. Once you land on a partner site, their own privacy policy governs your data, not ours. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Where your data goes

Our providers operate internationally, so data may be transferred outside your country, including outside the EEA and UK. Where required, these transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by the provider.

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries: up to 24 months after our last exchange. Comments: indefinitely, unless you ask us to remove them. Analytics: per Google’s retention settings, currently 14 months. Anonymised click data: indefinitely, as it is not linked to an identifiable person.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, and receive a copy in portable form. Email support@islavisit.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

IslaVisit is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We update this policy when our tools or practices change, and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
