IslaVisit is free to read. We keep it that way partly through affiliate partnerships, and we think you should know exactly how that works.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on IslaVisit are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to book or buy something, the company pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price — the commission comes out of the merchant’s margin, not your pocket. You are never charged extra for using our links, and you are never obliged to use them.
Who we currently partner with
- Aviasales — flight search
- Klook — tours, activities, transfers and inter-island transport
- Airalo — eSIM data plans
- EKTA — travel insurance
Most of these are managed through the Travelpayouts affiliate network. This list changes as we add or drop partners, and we update this page when it does.
How this affects what we recommend
It does not. We are not paid to feature any specific hotel, tour or company, and no merchant has editorial input into our guides. Where we think something is overpriced or not worth booking, we say so — including for companies we earn commission from.
We also recommend plenty of things we earn nothing from, such as government portals, local ferry operators and businesses with no affiliate programme at all. If the best answer to a question is “book directly” or “do not book this”, that is what we write.
How we mark affiliate links
Affiliate links carry rel="nofollow sponsored" and open in a new tab. Pages containing affiliate links include a disclosure near the content. Some affiliate links are routed through islavisit.com/go/ addresses so we can track how many readers click them; these redirect straight to the merchant.
